What is the AdvanceAD-Tx test?
AdvanceAD-Tx is a simple, noninvasive test for patients ages 12 years of older with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis that helps you and your healthcare provider understand the biology driving your AD. It uses a skin scraping from active areas of dermatitis. No biopsy required. In the lab, the sample is analyzed to see how more than 480 genes across 12 important skin and inflammation pathways are acting, giving you insight into your unique AD biological profile.
Result information
Advance-AD-Tx results classify your AD into one of two profiles:
JAK Inhibitor Responder Profile
Suggests you may be more likely to respond better to a JAK inhibitor than to a Th2-targeted therapy. Patients with this profile who were treated with a JAK inhibitor were more likely to see greater improvement and improve faster, with less itching and fewer flares, leading to a better overall quality of life.
Th2 Molecular Profile
Suggests you may have a similar response to either a Th2-targeted therapy or a JAK inhibitor. When treatment options may work similarly, the choice can focus on safety, side effects, other health conditions, and your preferences.
These results give you clear evidence-based guidance in an area where treatment choices can often feel uncertain.

AdvanceAD-Tx can be ordered during a routine visit when you and your clinician are considering starting or changing a systemic therapy.
Simple skin scraping
Two small samples are collected from active atopic dermatitis areas. No needles, no biopsy, no downtime.
Advanced laboratory analysis
Our laboratory analyzes your sample with our gene expression test to provide one of two results: JAK Inhibitor Responder Profile or Th2 Molecular Profile.
Results sent to your provider
Your test results are sent to your healthcare professional, who will review your profile with you and use it to help guide your treatment plan.
